The BBS.Divas wanted to do a project in the memory of our beloved father, Joseph Marshall, whom passed away May 8th, 2006 from a massive heart attack due to kidney failure and high cholesterol. We decided that this project shall be called “Pump 4 Life”. This project is designed to make people aware of kidney disease by providing information on DaVita services and kidney disease. It is also to raise donations for care packages for our local Montgomery County DaVita facility patients; whom may need more supplies as they take their treatments. The money that will be raised will be spent buying small pillows, small blankets, backpacks/ duffle bags, books, snacks, cds, and mp3 players or better yet donate any of the items in the list. The name “Pump 4 Life” came from the actual dialysis process. For about four hours, three days a week, a hemodialysis patient sits next to a dialysis machine. In hemodialysis, blood is removed from the body and filtered through a man-made membrane called a dialyzer, or artificial kidney, and then the filtered blood is returned to the body. Stay tuned for more info on this event. #BBS.Divas on da move for spring!!!!! RIP Daddy Joe
